In Bangladesh, children finally have the opportunity to get an education. There are 144 million people that live in Bangladesh and it just happens to be one of the poorest countries in the world. 40% of people in Bangladesh survive on less than a dollar a day. Parents have always wanted to give their children the best education that they can get yet there have been so many floods that fill the schools, which obviously causes problems. Since there have been problems, a man unfortunately, I am not aware of his name, decided to create a boat where children can ride on the boat and get an education. This helps children boost their knowledge and become successful. This boat has so many advantages, children can get an education even if there is a flood. In the past, 4,000 schools in Bangladesh had been flooded and 44 schools had been destroyed.

Parents in Bangladesh never really supported their children going to school because they did not want their children to be distant from them. Now that there are school boats, parents are more likely to let their kids go off and get an education because they know that their children will come back home.

Children now have the dream to want to go to a University.

I am glad that the parents changed their mind to let their children to go to school in the boat and learn something. The books are great for children to learn how to read and understand what a story is talking about. I also encourage a teacher to teach the children how to write after they read the books. I want the children to write down about how the children feels about the story, what is their reaction, record some questions for them to ask, etc. Those help the children to develop and understand about reading and writing. Reading and writing skills are important to make the children improve when the children learn how to read and write.
ReplyDeleteI was really enthralled with this blog. Thank you for enriching my mind with this new information. There are so few people in the world that are kind enough to want to just help someone out of the genuineness of their hearts. It is so rare that you find that type of altruism. It is so sad about how Bangladesh is one of the poorest countries I the world but luckily some of these children can get an education. On a boat no less! Its’ true what you said, if there’s a flood, they can still go to school. I bet for those kids they would be entirely grateful while the kids in America would probably moan and groan about it. It is amazing how kids in different cultures are so different. Its fantastic that these children have the chance to study and the chance to dream of a future.
ReplyDeleteWow, this blog really touched me and just from the pictures you posted, the kids were so excited about going to school. That kind of thing should happen more often, creating a solution to every barrier that prevent children from receiving a proper education. I really do hope these kids will succeed in the future and are able to go to college.
ReplyDeleteWow, it's really interesting pictures that you have posted on your blog. I tried to imagine ourselves to get our education in this kind of enviornment. It would be very different and awkward because we are so used to have a classroom for our whole life but it would be interesting if we have our education outside or being in the boats as our classroom. It made me feel that we should appreciate to have our classrooms because it will always keep us cool and warm inside while the children who have to go school outside even if it was raining or too hot.
ReplyDeleteBut hey, it's still good because the children still receive their education, no matter where they are at and they can be sucessful by having the education in their life and I hope one day that they would build up schools with classrooms for those children.
