This book has made a huge impact on me. Its not everyday that someone would just give up everything they have so that children in another country could get an education. I find it fascinating that fate had brought Greg to do these things. Fate was the reason that all of this happened. I find that Greg is a brave person for what he has done. I know that people have the strive that he does yet they do not know where to begin. It all begins with the motivation and courage that you have within yourself. Greg had a lot of courage and strength to do what he did, he was actually abducted one time in Afghanistan and it still amazes me that he has not given up on giving people in other countries the education that they deserve. All I can say is that Greg Mortenson is a brave person and we should really look up to him as an example of a true hero.

Three Cups of Tea
Three cups of tea is a story about a man named Greg Mortenson and his journey throughout Pakistan and other countries. This man has set up 55 schools in other countries so that children can receive an education. All of this had started on his journey to Pakistan, Greg wanted to go to a K-2 mountain in Pakistan so that he could drop off his sister's necklace in memory of her death. As he was traveling he had fell behind because there was an injured man on the trail so he decided to help him. As he was helping he fell off track and went into a village those villagers helped him recover himself because he had been exhausted. As he was there he noticed that the children were not getting an education. He decided to fly back to America and try to raise as much money as he can to set up schools in Asia and the middle east. He achieved his goal by setting up 55 schools.

I do agree with you that this book does impact on many people especially for both of us. I do really enjoy read this book.
ReplyDeleteWe might not be able to build schools for children in Pakistan but whatever in the way we can make a lot of positive differences in the lives of other. At the heart of this book is a powerful but simple political message, we all each, as this peaceful simplicity of life seems to be part of what attracts Mortenson to the villagers. Greg Mortenson is a brave man who took a risk and discovered his career building schools. He works with the local leader and creates new lives for hundred of girls. What can I say about Greg Mortenson is a true modern day hero.
Amen to this: It all begins with the motivation and courage that you have within yourself.
Three cups of tea is a good book. Well, Greg Mortenson knew how to stick with his words by build schools for girls in Pakistan and other areas in Asia. Yes, he is a true hero!
ReplyDeleteThree Cups of Tea is a really inspiring book that touched my heart, and Greg Mortenson really inspired me to travel and help other countries. He opened up my eyes, and hopefully everyone else's as well.
ReplyDeleteI find it wonderful that even though he wasn't able to climb to the top of mountain K2, he still did something to help the country in honor of his sister. :) Not many people are as generous as he is..
The book is dull in my opinion, but at least it has some inspirations like the whole point of the book is about a person’s action can make a big difference in other people’s life. He gave up his life to help building schools and provided education for people in Pakistan. Wow, I am impressed because not most people would will to do that.
ReplyDeleteGreg Mortenson is a brave guy who risk his life. I agree with Sabrina, that is was great that he didn't make it to the top of K2, and still made a difference in many children's life. He gave education to many young children. I do admire Greg; he deserves this honor.
ReplyDeleteBut, remember at the same time- he left his family at home. I think that was not a great impression of him to leave his family behind. Something to think about. ;)
I believe all comments are common to say on this comments box are correct. Greg Mortenson is amazing guy to have his heart to give his best to give the best schools for all children in these country. Also, I find Sabrina's comment is amazing thought and at once, it is glad that he didnt make it to the summit of K2 and made a difference in many children and impact them with education. I believe that God made a plan for him and he choose him to make it difference for children to have education. Lord know that children need Greg's help and he is perfect to do kind of jobs and he is strong enough to show his power that he can make it difference for children. I admired him for that. It is huge honor for him. Also, I really like their quote, 3 cups of tea- 1 cup of tea, your stranger...2 cup of tea, your a friend...3 cup of tea, your part of our family. We will got your back and protect you for risk our life. it is impact me also.
