The effects of children in Poverty

Poverty is a huge problem all over the world. Poverty has so many effects on a young child such as child labor, not getting an education or even sexual trafficking. Half of the world, over three billion people live on less than $2.50 a day. 27-28% of children in the world are underweight. 25,000 children die everyday due to poverty. Since children do not get enough food they lack in nutrition. Since parents are unable to collect enough money for their children to go to school they do not get an education. In the 21st century, nearly a billion people are not able read a book or sign their names.

There are 2.2 billion children in the world and 1 billion of them are stuck in poverty. 121 million children in the world also do not get an education. 1.4 million children die each year due to the lack of water, food
and shelter. Could you ever imagine yourself
being in their shoes? In America, we are spoiled we get almost everything we want. We get a free education from K-12 grade. While for the parents in other countries have to pay for their children to get an education. Even the poor people here in America still get an education, we take things for granted here. In South Asia there are 706 families living without electricity in their homes because t
hey cannot afford it. In Sub-Saharan Africa there are 547 families that live without electricity as well.

If you actually think about it, you might end up in their shoes one day.
Help them, we can save the lives of millions. How? Donate.

That quote hit me, which shows me that we negelect them so bad that we won't even know if he or she will survive the next morning. Can you imagine a relative that died on you because he or she was hungry? All that time you think, you wished you have known so you would have fed her but we never known. This is different, WE KNOW, and yet we still stand and watch them die everyday.

  2. i think this is one of the reason why theres child labor over there, since education is not free, the only way parents can find money to support their child to go to school is probably by making them work to earn money for both, family and school.

if only education was free over there, then maybe less child labor would happen and it could decrease the percentages of poverty out there. lucky for us, education's free which helps in not experiencing what all the children out there experiences.

  3. What most people don't realize is that once a family is in poverty, they should not force their kids to work. The reason is that once they force their kids to work and earn money along with them there is no way their kids will be able to go to school and earn a degree so they can get a job with higher class and more income. Once a family in extreme poverty encourages their children to work with them, they are putting their family in a higher risk of continuing the poverty cycle since they have no one to help them get out of it.
